Hair Dressing Level 2

This Level 2 Hairdressing Apprenticeship consists of nine units and is achieved through assessment and training. The course covers Health & Safety, Consultation, Reception, Promoting, Shampooing and Conditioning hair, Colouring, Perming and Scalp Massage.
You will study key skills in numeracy and Communication and Employment Rights and Responsibilities. Your skills will be assessed in your workplace by a qualified assessor.  You must pass all the elements of the apprenticeship to achieve the full apprenticeship qualification.

You will be in paid employment and will attend college one day a week. In your work place, your practical competence will be assessed and you will submit a portfolio to gain your NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing.
At college you will gain the underpinning knowledge to support you in your work and study Key Skills in Application of Number, Communication and IT  You must pass all elements of the programme to achieve the full Apprenticeship qualification.  This will allow you to progress to Level 3 study.

Apprentices on Intermediate Level 2 of the programme can move to an Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship

Eligibility to apply for the course
If you are currently living in England and not in full-time education, you can apply for an Apprenticeship. There are no fixed entry requirements, although you may be required to sit a basic competency test. Opportunities at college are wide-ranging, covering various market sectors and roles. You can apply for an Apprenticeship at any time of year but being employed is mandatory. An existing employee can apply for an Apprenticeship, provided their employer agrees and their job aligns with the training on offer.
